Fan Labor 101: How do Fans Consume and Produce?

Fans engage with their media in a variety of ways. In this portion, you will explore the ways that fans consume media, produce their own fanworks (and original works!) and consider the ways that production and consumption overlap.

At the end of this course, you will:

• Have thought about the different ways fans engage with media
• Understand the kinds of resources that fans dedicate to fandom pursuits
• Have considered the differences between thinking of fans as consumers, producers and prosumers
